Overview
An opportunity has opened up for an experienced Conveyancer to join a national Legal 500 firm in Stockport. The successful candidate will come with 3-4 years fee earning experience and be responsible for initiating, processing, and completing the full spectrum of residential property fee-earning work, managing files independently and with minimal supervision.
This role plays a vital part in contributing to the growth and success of the firm in line with group and business plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle residential conveyancing matters on behalf of clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with the firm’s quality and risk management procedures (Lexcel and SRA Code of Conduct).
- Generate fee income and manage time recording, billing, and cash collection in line with agreed targets.
- Actively participate in business development initiatives for the team and the firm.
- Provide supervision and support for fee-earning colleagues during absences or holidays.
- Supervise other fee earners if required.
- Participate in firm-wide, group, or office-based marketing activities.
- Maintain professional and friendly client interactions, both in-person and over the phone, ensuring high standards of client care.
- Manage correspondence and documentation through the case management system.
- Organize and maintain filing (both paper-based and digital via Seneca), including file opening, closing, and retrieval in accordance with office procedures.
- Proactively seek new work from existing clients and generate new client opportunities.
- Develop and maintain a network of professional contacts and promote the firm within personal and professional circles.
- Gain and retain strong IT and communication skills appropriate to a modern legal practice, including case management, time recording, email, online research, and phone systems.
